Old Montreal's Hotel Nelligan Inaugurates New Ballroom

Date: 18.06.2007

In concert with high caliber industry partners, Georgia Antonopoulos, Director of Sales of the Hotel Nelligan invited meeting and event planners last week, following an 8 M $ investment, to a brand new section of the boutique hotel.  The major addition includes 10 guest rooms, 32 suites and 2 penthouse suites, as well as additionnal meeting facilities and a new bar-brasserie.

The very enjoyable affair went off without a hitch under the watchful eye of Zeste Incentive's Genvieve Chartre, responsible for the planning and execution of the event.

Guest Rooms & Suites

With the addition, the hotel now offers 105 guest roooms, including 59 suites, each with a double Jacuzzi and a glassed-in shower, state of the art electronic equipment such as 32 inch LCD screens and DVD players, and fireplaces in most rooms.  Two penthouses boast an urban condo feel, with a kitchen, wet bar and private rooftop terrace.  Modern furnishings with a classical touch help to seamlessly marry the historic past with the present.  While the original section has a warm, earthy feel with an emphasis on cherry wood tones, the expansion features a more contemporary, streamlined decor, with ample use of chocolate brown wood.

Meetings & Banqets

The original section of the hotel offers four conference rooms with a total capacity of 200 people, while the expanded area adds a large 3,500-square-foot banquet hall that may be subdivided into three sections for smaller meetings or breakout rooms.  This new room, also decorated with a contemporary flair, offers abundant windows and a ceiling height alowing for rear screen projection, as demonstrated by the impeccable installation provided by Techni-Logique Audiovisual Services with Executive Account Manager Stephane Roy present.  On display during the event were elegant table dressings, courtesy of Veronique Hebert with Decorum Event Decors.

Bar & Brasserie

Hotel Nelligan's expansion also creates a new drinking and dining destination in Old Montreal.  The Méchant Boeuf Bar & Brasserie seats 175, and specilizes in French Brasserie cuisine featuring beef as a star ingredient.  Guests will be captivated by the venue's distinctively vibrant décor, with original brick walls complemented by an abundance of red-from the curtains, chairs and tiled pillars.  The bar also features an ever-changing palette of coloured lights.

The Hotel Nelligan in Old Montreal - now open for bigger events that are sure to please.
